It has been out in the news and on radio recently about dog obedience training in Singapore. The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) of Singapore is proposing to make obedience training for Rottweilers compulsory however some professionals and enthusiasts are suggesting that it be make compulsory for all breeds.

From reports over the past years, the number of small dog bites incidents is on the rise.

THEY may look cute but smaller dogs such as Jack Russell terriers, maltese, shih tzu and others are included in this list.

Small-dog bites accounted for 28 per cent of the bite incidents in 2005, 32 per cent in 2006, 45 per cent last year and 42per cent so far this year, according to statistics from the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) of Singapore.

So will dog obedience training for your dog make it any less aggressive or likely to bite someone? The answer is no, but does that make dog obedience training unnecessary? Again the answer is no.

Dogs are just like you and me and have their own mind, thinking and characteristics so there is no way you can have total control but obedience training can help you control your dog better.

There are some owners who baulk at the price they have to pay for their dog obedience training in Singapore and the time they have to spend to bring their dog for the training, etc. But hey, as the owner, it’s your responsibility.

Anyway, if you think the price that you have to pay is beyond your reach or think it’s too much to pay for you dog’s training, here’s something else that you can consider.
